Sovereign Ground
A flower essence journey into the inherited patterns that affect our visibility, value, voice, desire, and power.
Reclaim the parts of yourself that learned it was safer to stay small

New course! Self-study opens Oct. 22
Live cohort Oct. 29, Nov. 5 and 12, 2026
For generations, women have received messages about what is safe
Don’t be too loud.
Don’t be too visible.
Don’t want too much.
Don’t trust yourself too much.
Don’t become too powerful.
Don’t reveal what you know.
Sometimes those messages are obvious. Sometimes they’re so deeply woven into our families, cultures, and nervous systems that we experience them simply as fear, self-doubt, hiding, or a feeling that it isn’t safe to fully be ourselves.
For those of us who are healers, intuitives, herbalists, flower essence practitioners, and spiritually sensitive people, these patterns can feel especially charged.
Sovereign Ground is an invitation to understand where these patterns come from, recognize how they live in you today, and explore flower and vibrational essences as allies in reclaiming what they have kept you from.
What if the fear that keeps us small is older than we are?
Maybe you have something meaningful to say—but hesitate to say it.
You know what you want—but question whether you should want it.
You’re skilled at what you do—but feel uncomfortable being recognized for it, charging appropriately for it, or telling people about it.
You trust your intuition—until someone else disagrees.
Or you find yourself masking, minimizing, staying behind the scenes, or waiting until you feel just a little more ready.
We often approach these patterns as personal problems we need to overcome.
But what happens when we widen the lens?
What if some of what we carry didn’t start with us?

The Witch Wound
You don’t need to identify as a witch.
You don’t need to practice witchcraft.
And you don’t need to have a witch in your bloodline.
The Witch Wound describes the psychological residue of centuries of patriarchal oppression and the historical—and ongoing—persecution of people accused of “witchcraft”, the majority of whom were women.
Witch persecutions give us an especially stark view of what can happen when patriarchal power, fear, religion, economic and social upheaval, and scapegoating converge.
Using the historical witch persections from Early Modern Europe as a lens can give us a new perspective and understanding about patterns that still show up today: fear of being seen, heard, different, powerful, prosperous, intuitive, or fully ourselves.
Instead of asking:
What’s wrong with me? Why can’t I move past this?
We can begin asking:
Where did this pattern come from? What has it been trying to protect me from? And do I still need it now?

Why this work became personal for me
For years, I couldn’t understand why visibility became so much harder when I left the corporate world for the healing arts.
I’d spent decades in technology. I could give presentations, talk about my professional accomplishments, and was able to present myself in a business environment with success.
But when I began working with herbs, essential oils, flower essences, intuition, and spirituality—the things that felt much more like the real me—being seen suddenly felt extraordinarily vulnerable.
As I began noticing the same patterns in the women and healing practitioners I worked with, I wanted to understand why.
That inquiry led me into inherited trauma, patriarchy, the history of the European witch persecutions, and my own ancestry—including German family lines from an area that experienced some of Europe’s most brutal witch persecutions.
And something clicked.
I began to see that some of the patterns I’d experienced as personal limitations made much more sense when I put them in a larger historical context.
That exploration became Sovereign Ground.

The 5 Pillars of Sovereignty
We’ll begin by building a shared awareness in inherited trauma, patriarchy, the history of the witch persecutions, and the Witch Wound itself.
Then we’ll bring that history into the present through five places where these patterns can show up in our lives today.
VISIBILITY: Being Authentically Seen
I have a right to be here.
Explore hiding, masking, fear of exposure, and the possibility of letting your authentic self be seen—while honoring your right to decide when and how you are visible.
Some essences we’ll cover: Agrimony, Fairy Slipper, Monkshood
VOICE: Self-Expression & Self-Advocacy
My voice matters.
Explore fear of judgment, self-silencing, and the patterns that keep us from expressing what we really think, know, feel, and believe.
Some essences we’ll cover: Larch, Yellow Violet, Lapis Lazuli
POWER: Self-Trust & Internal Authority
My knowledge and experience matter.
Explore intuition, inner knowing, personal authority, and what it means to trust your own experience rather than continually looking outside yourself for permission or validation.
Some essences we’ll cover: Cerato, Goldenrod, Tiger’s Eye
VALUE: Self-Worth & Societal Worth
I am enough.
Explore the conditioning that can tie worth to productivity, approval, usefulness, achievement, or fitting in—and reconnect with a deeper sense of inherent value.
Some essences we’ll cover: Buttercup, Lady Banks’ Rose, Gold
DESIRE: Money, Sexuality & Success
My needs and wants matter.
Explore the places where desire collides with shame, scarcity, fear, and conditioning around pleasure, receiving, money, sexuality, ambition, and success.
Some essences we’ll cover: Blueberry Pollen, White Trumpet Lily, Diamond

Throughout the Five Pillars, we’ll work with flower essences, gem elixirs, and other vibrational allies that can support each aspect of reclamation.
Flower essences as allies
We’ll call in essence allies from the very beginning for grounding, protection, courage, discernment, ancestral healing, self-worth, authentic expression, intuition, desire, embodiment, and personal power.
You don’t need to purchase or take the essences to participate in Sovereign Ground, but of course you can.
During the course, you can benefit from learning about them and from the plant and gemstone energy being called into the lessons. If you desire, you can use the essences you have to accompany your journey.
You’ll get an extensive Sovereign Ground Essence Repertory that you can return to as different layers of your own healing arise—giving you a resource for continuing this work long after the course ends. In this way, you can decide what new essences you want to work with on your own.
Because this isn’t about taking on everything at once.
Healing is multi-layered, incremental, somatic, spiralic, and ongoing.
This is slow, spiraling work.
There is no need to rush it.
Course Structure
In approximately 15 self-paced lessons of prerecorded teaching, Sovereign Ground moves through three stages:

Is Sovereign Ground for you?
This course was created especially for women who work with—or are drawn to—flower essences, herbalism, healing arts, plant medicine, intuition, shadow work, and spiritual practice.
It may especially resonate if you recognize patterns around hiding, visibility, self-worth, expression, money, desire, intuition, or trusting yourself.
Or perhaps you simply have the feeling that some of what you carry is older than you.
While Sovereign Ground centers women’s experience, the Witch Wound is not exclusive to women. Men were also accused and persecuted, and patriarchal systems have harmed people across gender and identity—particularly those who are different, marginalized, nonconforming, or outside dominant social and spiritual structures.
Anyone who recognizes themselves in these patterns is welcome.
Ideal for those who:
Have worked with flower essences before
Know how to create a flower essence dosage bottle/blend
Are ready to embark on an inner process
and practitioners who:
See these dynamics in clients and want to understand them more fully
Want a framework to work with these patterns and help clients create lasting change

Prerequisites
Prior familiarity with flower essences and an understanding of what they are, how to take them, and what to expect (Sovereign Ground is not an introductory flower essence course).
If you are newer to flower essences: Get quickly up to speed in 30 minutes with our free Flower Essence Quickstart and consider our Essence Essentials membership which includes a community forum and monthly Zoom calls.

Flower Essence Educator, Practitioner, Soul Business Coach, host of the Flower Essence Podcast, and co-founder of the School for Flower Essence Studies
Rochana Felde
Rochana Felde is an integrative flower essence practitioner and educator whose background spans plant medicine, technology, and business. Her work draws from flower essence therapy, herbalism, aromatherapy, earth-based spirituality, plant spirit communication, business strategy, and years of research and teaching.
In her nine years of private practice, Ro worked with sensitive neurotypes to develop greater resilience, personal power, and capacity in life and business. At the School for Flower Essence Studies, she teaches foundational flower essence education, advanced material, and business-building skills for practitioners.
As a business coach for healing arts solopreneurs, Ro began noticing the same patterns again and again: fear of visibility, difficulty talking about unconventional healing work, under-valuing and over-giving, perfectionism, self-doubt, and difficulty trusting one’s own knowing. She recognized many of these patterns in herself as well.
Those observations eventually led her into a deeper exploration of inherited trauma, patriarchy, her own ancestry, and the history of the witch persecutions.
Sovereign Ground brings these threads together. While the historical and Witch Wound framework represents a newer direction in Ro’s work, the flower essence knowledge behind it draws on years of practice, teaching, plant research, business coaching, self-experimentation, and ongoing learning with her teachers and partners at the School for Flower Essence Studies.
As a Plant Spirit Researcher, Ro also creates flower essences from the wild coastal cliffs, forests, and meadows of Northern California.
Reclaim your sovereign ground
You don’t need to become fearless.
You don’t have to push yourself into visibility before you’re ready.
You don’t have to become louder, harder, or more powerful than you want to be.
Sovereignty is having enough ground beneath you to choose.
To recognize when an old pattern is speaking.
To understand where it may have come from.
To meet it with curiosity rather than shame.
To reach for the allies and resources that support you.
And, little by little, to make a different choice when you’re ready.

Warm words from our students
From the Bach Flower Foundations course:
“Rochana and Kathleen are incredibly generous in sharing their own personal experiences (as humans and practitioners) and create a safe place to explore complex, emotional topics during the live zoom sessions. These sessions really help to illustrate how Bach Essences can be used in these modern times.
The course material is easy to follow, flows nicely and is very informative. This was exactly what I needed at this point in time in regards to my own personal healing path as well as my holistic education path.“
—Tanya S.
From the Practitioner Training Program:
“I believe Ruth, Kathleen, and Rochana all have a gift of really relaying information from the flowers, and they are able to present it in such a way that we can learn and absorb it, which helps so much with attunement.”
—Stephanie A.
From the Practitioner Training Program:
“Ruth, Kathleen, and Rochana are incredibly magical guides to the flower kingdom.”
—Maria W.

Q. Will this heal my trauma?
Sovereign Ground is an educational and self-development framework for exploring inherited patterns through history, body awareness, reflection, somatic resources, and flower, gem, and vibrational essences.
It is not therapy or mental-health treatment; a promise to heal trauma; a comprehensive ancestral-healing or patriarchy-history course; exhaustive trauma or shadow-work training; an introduction to flower essences; an ongoing ancestral-healing program; a course on witchcraft or magic; or a superficial mindset reset.
There’s no fixed timeline for what shifts, or promise about how much will change.
What Sovereign Ground offers is a framework, a map, and a toolbox.
You decide how, when, and how deeply to engage.
